President Pakistan Muslim League PML-Q, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain Saturday urged the government to concentrate on the problems of the masses instead of confrontation among institutions as it will prove detrimental to the system.

He said that the current PPP-led federal as well as provincial governments should complete their five years term so that on the basis of performance people could reject them for next 50 years. He said that the rulers were not looking serious in resolving the basic problems of the masses, adding that the masses were living miserable life due to increase in petroleum, gas and power prices but the rulers are busy in protecting their vested interests.

Addressing a press conference here, Shujaat said that the rulers totally failed in delivering any sort of relief to the people since coming into power. While criticising leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, he said that the party was continuously urging the government to do away 17th amendment from the constitution, would its repelling provide the masses with job opportunities, end poverty and help in getting rid of price hike.

To a query he said that his party will contest election at all the levels across the country. Replying to a question regarding renaming of NWFP province, he said that the government should decide this after taking into confidence the people of NWFP and it should be done in accordance with the wishes of the people instead of pleasing one political party. He said that government should respect the Supreme Court's decision on NRO and it should take all necessary steps in implementing the verdict.

Shujaat said that in the recent by-elections in Swat and Mansehara districts the people had rejected the policies of the government. In spite of the government machinery the masses had given their decision in favour of PML-Q, which shows that the government has lost the support of the people.
